Fordell School welcomes students, parents, families, friends and visitors to what has been an exciting and prosperous start to 2012.
Fordell School is a great place to be! Tucked away in an idyllic setting amongst established native trees and wide open spaces, where children can be children, Fordell School is a kid's paradise, which offers a rural school experience and much more.
We are a friendly rural school Year 0 - 8, just 14kms east (a 10 minute drive from Durie Hill) of Wanganui in the village of Fordell. Our website is designed to provide you with an insight into our great school. We are extremely proud of it.
On our website we have information about how our school operates, information about our staff, celebrations of our students' achievements, school events, historical information, future directions and much more.
Fordell School is a positive and proactive learning environment. We embrace our values and set high standards in educational achievement and leadership. Our core programmes focus on Literacy and Numeracy whilst integrating ICT resources (31 new computers arrived into our classrooms in term one). We also embrace sport and the arts and are looking at some exciting and new initiatives in 2012.
We are a progressive and forward moving school. Quality teaching and teacher aides and cross - group teaching in mathematics in our four classrooms means our students benefit hugely. Along with a range of extra curricular opportunities is a huge attraction for our families.
House Sports, Kids Conference, Hockey, Netball, School Trivia Night, Cluster Performing Arts' Festival, Otago Maths Competitions, Tabloid Sports, Science and Art afternoons and Rippa Rugby are events we are all looking forward to this term.
